This release included several prominent bug fixes!
Bug Fixes
- We fixed a bug where Create Search steps were appearing out of order.
- We fixed a bug that was causing the charts in Analytics not to load.
- We repaired an issue where Vote History records were all being categorized as Mail Ballot.
- We made some small improvements to how units appear while in Offline Mode.
The highlights of this release are a new feature where you can add multiple units to a building at a time, and being able to add an entire State to a Create Search query! It also included some unit sorting improvements, and a few minor bug fixes.
Improvements
Branching Scripts are live in all Gardens as of March 10th!
- You can now add multiple new units to a building at a time!
- Create Search now allows an entire State to be added to a query.
- We also improved how units sort when letters exist in the unit number, ex. Apt 3B.
- We added more clear error messaging when an Admin I attempts to edit a Script, which is outside their permission level.
Bug Fixes
- We fixed a few small issues related to Create Search, including an issue where some options appeared outside of the loaded geography.
- You can now edit the Expiration Date of a Conversation Code from the Analytics Manage screen without an error.
This release included minor bug fixes and improvements, including Language now appearing as a searchable field in Create Search!
Improvements
- You can now search for Language in Create Search! Reminder that this is still a user-added field, not loaded from a data file.
- To increase accessibility, we updated how the selected Conversation Code type icon appears in the create a Conversation Code workflow, making it easier to see.
- We added additional language to the Date + Time field when creating a Campaign to clarify its purpose.
Bug Fixes
- We fixed an issue where emails were not being sent when a canvasser was assigned to a turf.
- A bug was fixed that prevented last-name searches in People Search from returning results.
- We fixed an issue where expired Conversation Codes weren’t showing as expired in the Analytics view.
- We fixed a bug where Notes searches in knock codes returned the "actual OpenField" error when the result was clicked.
This release included minor bug fixes and improvements, including adding the Precinct Name to Saved Search Exports, and removing 0, O, I, & 1 from Conversation Code generation!
Improvements
- We made an adjustment where newly created Conversation Codes will no longer contain the characters 0, O, 1, or I! This will reduce confusion when entering Codes!
- Saved Search Exports will now contain the contact’s Precinct name, which will match the name in Create Search.
- We also made several improvements to how units are handled in the door-knocking app, including addressing when a single address had multiple icons showing different numbers of units.
- We updated Address Search while in a Conversation Code to be a little more flexible– it will now accept abbreviations and return results.
- We made a few general updates to the copy and images on some admin screens in the app's backend.
Bug Fixes
- When attempting to Search by OpenField ID, an error will now appear if you enter anything other than numbers in the search field.
- We fixed an issue where conversations had while in Offline Mode that contained a drop-down Question Type weren’t appearing in the contact’s history tab or their People Profile.
Improvements
- Searches on People Profiles will now return results more quickly!
Bug Fixes
- We have fixed a few bugs that will improve the display of units in apartment buildings.
- We have resolved an issue that allowed you to click Save+Next while creating a Conversation Code without selecting a script.
- We fixed a bug where some Conversation Codes were not being held to the expiration dates and times set up when the codes were created. The fix for this issue required reconfiguring the expiration dates for all existing Conversation Codes. All Conversation Codes created before January 1st, 2026, will expire on January 1st, 2026. To re-activate an expired code, simply edit the code and update the expiration date! You can also adjust the expiration date before January 1 to ensure uninterrupted access.
This release included numerous bug fixes, as well as an update to the colorblind-friendly icons when door-knocking!
Improvements
- We updated the icons in the canvassing app to improve accessibility for colorblind Users!
- We made some spacing updates in the canvassing app.
- When loading a Saved Search over the display limit, you will now see a message that says, “Searches bigger than 20,000 people may take a long time to load. Thank you for your patience.”
- We added a warning message in the Importer highlighting when a file is not encoded correctly.
- When an imported file includes date of birth, OpenField will now automatically populate that contact’s Age field.
Bug Fixes
- We resolved an issue where numbers collected via the Phone Number Collection Question Type weren’t being displayed in the phone fields in the app.
- We have fixed a few bugs to restore full expected functionality for Quarantined Users.
- We repaired an issue where some People Profiles weren’t displaying correctly.
- We also fixed a bug where, if you opened a finished Map in the Manual Turf Cutter and then attempted to auto-cut the turf, it would break the Conversation Code.
This release included minor bug fixes and the ability to duplicate Scripts!
Highlights
We are happy to share that you can now make a Copy of a Script in your Garden!
From the Scripts homepage, click the checkboxes next to the Script(s) you want to copy. Then, click the Action drop-down, select Copy selected Scripts, and then click Go.
The copies of your Scripts will now appear at the top of the Scripts homepage, and will read Copy of [Original Script Name]!
Improvements
- Precincts will now appear in Saved Search Exports!
Bug Fixes
- We fixed a bug where Quarantining a User or their individual attempts didn’t appear to be saving, and one where a Quarantined User could still log in and canvass.
- We repaired an issue where we were hiding partisan scores for c3 organizations on People Profiles but not in Create Search.
- We fixed a bug where the Auto Turf Cutter wasn’t looking at the Max Turf size.
These releases included minor improvements and bug fixes on the back end, as well as the release of People Profiles!

We are excited to announce that
People Profiles
are now live in all OpenField Gardens!That’s right; you can now see and edit a contact’s information, history, and related notes in the People Profiles Tab!
People Profiles
You can find People Profiles as a new tab in your Burger Bar.
This tab includes an Overview page that will display Gender, Age, Zip Code, Household members, Notes, and any changes made to the profile on the Admin side, such as an updated name or address.
The About page has editable information, such as address and phone number, and non-editable information, such as Model Scores and Voter Status.
Finally, the Outreach tab shows all attempted and successful contacts for the person, including the Conversation Code, Turf Number, Script, Date, and more, for when the contact was made.

Improvements
- Improvements on the back end will support improved search results.
Bug Fixes
- We fixed several bugs for Admin 2-level permissions, including one that caused counts to blink on the create list page, one that prevented Admin 2s from launching a Conversation Code, one where the Manual Turf Cutter was showing insufficient permissions, and one where lists were getting stuck and not generating.
- We fixed several bugs in Street Canvassing related to people and address searches, and one that caused opening a resident list to show call options.
- We also fixed an issue where non-admin users didn’t appear in Analytics to Assign Turf to.
- There was also a bug with Offline mode, where it was giving an offline street list error that has been fixed.
- Fixed a bug with the About Tab where Mailing Address wasn't updating after clicking Edit + Save.
- We also fixed an issue where the Edit People Modal showed all phone fields as required when they weren't.
- We repaired an issue where Select Location on a knock code was busted.
- Fixed a bug where a Superadmin account couldn’t delete Scripts.
- A bug in the Manual Turf Cutter that caused it to run slowly and/or not let folks cut turf has been fixed.
This release has some minor improvements on the back end & one big announcement!
Highlights
- We are excited to announce our NEW Manual Turf Cutter - now live in all OpenField Gardens.
- That’s right; you can now choose to manually cut your turf OR have OpenField auto-cut turf for you, and you can choose whatever works best with your programming.

- You’ll see the Manual Turf Cutter option when creating a Conversation Code, and notice a new tab in your Burger Bar for ‘Maps!’
- The Manual Turf Cutter gives admins more control over their turf and can make canvassing more focused and efficient.
