Welcome to Release 0.31! This release includes a NEW & improved Script Builder & some bug fixes.
Improvements
- Our Script Builder has a major upgrade! Check out our Help Center article for all the details, then head to your Garden to try it yourself!
- We completed all Spanish Translations, if something looks off please let us know.
Bugs
- We fixed a bug that showed all question answers checked when creating a search.
- We also fixed an issue where a server error would come up when creating admin users.
Welcome to Release 0.30! This release included minor bug fixes and additional preparation for upcoming features.
Improvements
- When adding a new person in the canvassing and phone banking apps, canvassers can now add additional fields, including age, date of birth, phone 1, opt-in to receiving calls, opt-in to receiving texts, and full address.
- Phones and addresses are now searchable fields while searching for a person in a street canvass code.
Bugs
- We fixed a bug where clicking Save Conversation took Canvassers back to the Resident List in a knock code.
- We also fixed an issue where pasting certain characters such as &()!#% into the Search bar while in the canvassing or phone banking apps caused the page to go blank.
- There was also a bug in which Search didn't show results for contacts whose names had been changed in the About tab.
Welcome to Release 0.29! This release includes additional tweaks to the Spanish language translations, updates to creating new Users, and a few minor bug fixes. The GOTV tab is also now optional when having conversations!
Improvements
- We have made further updates to the canvassing app’s Spanish translations.
- The GOTV tab on a contact’s record in the canvassing and phone apps can now be toggled for a Garden. Please request that it be turned on or off by emailing support@openfield.ai.
- When a User creates a new account by clicking Sign Upon the sign-in screen, Pronouns and Languages will now appear as fillable fields.
- Pronouns and Languages are no longer required fields when creating a new User on the Admin side.
- We also made UI improvements in various places, such as improving search results when searching with Notes within the canvassing app.
Bugs
- We fixed a bug where clicking Save + Next Doorwould complete a knock code.
- We also fixed an issue where marking a contact as Ill/Incarcerated canceled out their Has History marker.
- We fixed a bug where some users experienced a non-responsive Go Backbutton in the canvassing and phone banking apps.
- We improved follow-up residence icon responsiveness.
- We fixed an issue arising from a previous release that caused Search results within the app to be case-sensitive.
- We also shortened the loading time for Advanced Search while canvassing or phone banking.

Welcome to Release 0.27! We are so excited to announce that the canvassing side of OpenField is now available in Spanish! This release also tackled improvements to the Search function while canvassing and phone banking.
Improvements
- The canvassing and phone banking apps are now available in Spanish! Please note the translations are still in Alpha and may have some errors. If you spot any issues with the translations, please email support@openfield.ai!
- To switch languages, click on the Burger Bar menu in the upper left-hand corner of the canvassing app, then select the language drop-down and choose “Spanish.”
- We’ve made several improvements to the Search feature when canvassing or phone banking, including updates to the Notes and Advanced Search options.
- The legend for has history, ill/incarcerated, etc., will now appear in Search Results when searching for a new person while canvassing and phone banking.
- When creating a new Conversation Code, the options for expiration dates and times will be automatically pre-filled to allow for faster Conversation Code creation.
- Basic UI improvements in Create Search.
Welcome to Release 0.25! This release includes UI improvements on the admin and canvassing sides of the app and some updates to Create a Search!
Improvements
- Turfs will now automatically release themselves after a canvasser logs out of the Canvassing app.
- We’ve made general UI improvements for Street Canvassing both on the User side and in Analytics on the Admin side.
- The breadcrumb navigation on the app's Admin side now appears when creating a new Conversation Code.
- When searching for a person in any Conversation Code type, all four search options (People, Addresses, Phone Numbers, and Notes) will now appear.
Bugs
- We fixed an issue in Create a Search where the People/Address/Phones filter under Attempts wasn’t filtering correctly.
- We removed the extra Created Date field under People in Create a Search.
- The bug where apartment units weren’t being sorted in descending order in the Canvassing app has been fixed.
- We tightened up some additional security features around User Permissions.
Welcome to Release 0.24.7! We’ve added a way to knock every door in your List and the ability to create a List with a State File ID in the Importer.
Improvements
- We have added a toggle to the Knock Conversation Code creation screen called Knock Every Door, allowing turfs as small as one single door.
- Our Importer now accepts State File ID + State as a Unique Identifier that a list can be created from.
Welcome to Release 0.24.5/6! We fixed a few issues and added a few improvements in this release.

- If your Garden displays political party affiliation, that field will now be exported in Saved Search Exports!
- General UI improvements for Street Canvassing.
Bugs
- We’ve handled a 504 error that sometimes occurred when using Advanced Search in the canvassing app.
- We fixed a bug where Offline mode conversations weren’t saving.
- We also fixed a few Phone Banking bugs involving the Next Call button from the Navigation menu and Meet someone not on the list below? Add them here not appearing, as well as a bug where adding a person in phone banking automatically added the new person to the phone number in the queue.
Welcome to Release 0.24.4! This release brings an iwillvote.com integration to the GOTV tab in the canvassing and phone banking apps and other minor fixes.
Improvements & Fixes
- We have expanded the available Absentee and early Vote Data visible to canvassers and phone bankers in the GOTV tab on a person’s record. It now also contains the contact’s Early Vote Location, Ballot Drop-off Location, and Polling Location.
- Clicking the calendar icon beside Early Vote Location or Ballot Drop-Off Location will also display the dates available for Early Voting or Ballot Drop-Off.
- If a contact’s Early Voting location doesn’t display or displays incorrectly, you can click Need to look up an Early Voting Location manually? Click here. A window to iwillvote.com will open, and you can search for a contact’s Early Voting location there.

Welcome to Release 0.24.3! In this release, Street Canvassing has returned with a much-needed makeover!
Highlight
Street Canvassing is back!
- Street Canvass is a Conversation Code type that allows you to organize people at an event such as a block party, farmer’s market, or street fair. Because it isn’t tied to a phone or address, canvassers can just search for the people they meet and then continue with their Script.
Creating a Street Canvass Conversation Code
- When creating a new Conversation Code, select Street Canvass.
- Continue with the Conversation Code creation steps, although this code type will not need a List attached.
- Select Save + Create Code to finish!
Using a Street Canvassing Conversation Code
- Canvassers will enter their six-digit Conversation Code as normal.
- They will be greeted by the Search bar. As with searching for a contact in a knock or phone code, they will enter the contact’s information using either the People or Advanced filter.
- If a record matching the contact they’re searching for appears, they can tap on their name to continue to the Script associated with the Conversation Code.
- If a record matching the search fields they included does not appear, they can tap Meet someone not on the list below? Add them here. to add the contact as a new person to the database, then continue the conversation!
- After wrapping up the conversation, the canvasser will be greeted again by the Search bar, and they can search for the next person they meet.
